PAINT & COATING PACKAGING AUTOMATION

From dusty pails to solvent-heavy drums

Paint and coatings bring challenges that standard end-of-line systems aren’t built for. Empty containers arrive dusty from storage. Filled pails and drums pick up slick overspray. Solvents introduce Class I Division I and II requirements, while temperature swings, residue and buildup take a toll on sensors, tooling and electronics.

Our systems are designed with those conditions in mind. Components are selected for chemical resistance and electrical panels are climate controlled to protect sensitive hardware. End-of-arm tooling is built to maintain grip and placement accuracy even when coated with overspray. From empty container handling through full pail and drum palletizing, the system stays in control without compromising safety.

Details make the difference over time. Motors are sealed against dust, sensors are chosen to read through residue and grippers are designed to hold slick containers without marking or slipping. The result is consistent throughput and lower maintenance in environments where failure isn’t an option.

Capabilities

  • Palletize 5-gallon pails at up to 40 units/minute, drums at up to 10 units/minute
  • Vacuum tools handle pails through drums without mechanical changeover
  • Industrial-grade corrosion resistant components withstand daily solvent exposure
  • IP65-rated motors prevent paint dust penetration in 24/7 operation
  • Through-beam sensors detect containers despite heavy overspray
  • Multi-pail tools lift four 5-gallon containers in a single pick
